Editorial & Research Policy

GeoParrot publishes practical guides and research notes about Generative Engine Optimization, AI search, citations, crawlers and measurement. This page explains how we distinguish evidence from interpretation.

Our editorial purpose

Our goal is to help readers make better decisions about how their content is discovered, cited and measured across AI-powered search experiences. We favour useful methods, clearly scoped experiments and source-backed explanations over broad promises about rankings or traffic.

How we label evidence

AI-search products change quickly, and a claim can be true in one product context but not another. We aim to separate the following:

  • Confirmed: information supported by a first-party product source, public documentation, or reproducible evidence.
  • Reported: information attributed to a named publisher, researcher or source that GeoParrot has not independently reproduced.
  • Observed: a dated test, screenshot or data point recorded in a defined context. An observation is not automatically a general rule.
  • Inference: our interpretation of available evidence. We label uncertainty rather than presenting an inference as a confirmed fact.

Research methods and updates

When a post describes an experiment, we aim to document the question, method, measurement window, relevant limitations and result. When vendor documentation or search behaviour changes, older guidance may need revision. Pages with time-sensitive claims should be read with their published or updated date in mind.

Sources and citations

For claims about product behaviour, documentation and measurement definitions, we prefer primary sources. For reporting, studies and industry observations, we identify the source and distinguish its findings from our own analysis. A link does not by itself prove a broad conclusion; methodology, sample and date matter.

AI assistance

AI tools can assist with research organisation, drafting and production workflows. They are not a substitute for source review, clear attribution or editorial judgement. Claims with material uncertainty should be qualified, checked against available evidence, or excluded.

Corrections and feedback

If you find an error, missing context or a source that changes a published conclusion, please contact GeoParrot. Corrections that materially affect a page’s conclusion will be reflected in the page rather than silently left in place.
