How is reading time calculated?
Reading time uses an average silent reading speed of about 200 words per minute; speaking time uses about 130 words per minute. These are standard averages, so treat them as estimates.
Does it count characters with or without spaces?
Both. The tool shows total characters (including spaces) and a separate “No spaces” count, which is what most character limits and typography tools refer to.
What is keyword density?
Keyword density is how often a word appears relative to your total word count. It helps writers check they’re covering a topic naturally without over-stuffing a single term — useful for SEO and LLM/GEO optimization.
What is the Flesch Reading Ease score?
Flesch Reading Ease rates text from 0 to 100 — higher means easier to read. Scores of 90+ read as very easy (about 5th grade), 70–89 easy, 50–69 standard, and below 30 very difficult (academic level). This tool estimates syllables by counting vowel groups in each word, so the score and grade level are honest approximations, not exact measurements.
